The light kit included with this fan puts out almost no light. It is nearly useless, and serves to do nothing more than light a very small area immediately below the fan. I can't see using this in a large room as the description indicates. I installed it in a 12' x 14' bedroom, and will have to use additional lighting to provide a normal amount of light. Installation is tricky when using the optional remote. It looks nice, and the fan works well, so if all you're looking for is a fan, go for it. If light is at all important, look elsewhere.
