How to Buy a Ceiling Fan
What room is the fan for?
Choose the appropriate size fan for the proper combination of comfort and efficiency. (If you’re unsure about the room size, choose a larger fan to maximize your comfort at low/medium speed.)
• For rooms up to 225 square feet (15' x 15') and larger, use a fan with a blade span of 50", 52", 54", or 56".
• In rooms up to 144 square feet (12' x 12') we recommend fans with blade spans of 42" or 44".
• Smaller rooms up to 64 square feet (8' x 8') should use a fan with a 32" blade span.
What style & color do you prefer?
For a coordinated look, match the blade finish to furniture or wood molding. Or select a fan body finish that matches door or cabinet hardware. Many fans require blades to be purchased separately permitting styling flexibility to match your décor.
How high is your ceiling?
Low Ceilings—Casablanca Low Profile fans are specially designed for low ceiling applications. The motor housing fits flush to the ceiling.
High Ceilings—If your ceiling is 9 feet or higher, you’ll need an extension downrod. *Longer downrods must be purchased separately. 34° maximum angle.
Do you need a light?
Choose a fan with a coordinated light fixture included or customize the fan with your choice of accessory light fixture. Each ceiling fan will have compatible light fixtures listed.
Select a fan control.
To operate your fan and light separately from a single switch without additional rewiring, choose a Casablanca wall control. For convenient, easy operation in bedrooms and rooms with high ceilings, consider a wireless remote control.
Place your special order.
